Mais quand on \u00e9coute une \u0153uvre il est rare que la premi\u00e8re question que l&rsquo;on se pose soit de se demander en quelle ann\u00e9e, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crite.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9640 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/lemotdujour.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/schubert_22.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"338\" height=\"274\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lemotdujour.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/schubert_22.jpg 566w, https:\/\/lemotdujour.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/schubert_22-300x243.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 338px) 100vw, 338px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Mon cheminement est parti d&rsquo;une phrase qui m&rsquo;avait marqu\u00e9e. Phrase qu&rsquo;avait prononc\u00e9e Benjamin Britten et que j&rsquo;avais entendu lors d&rsquo;une \u00e9mission d&rsquo;une radio suisse.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Cette phrase, cette affirmation est la suivante\u00a0:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 28pt;\"><span style=\"color: #c00000; font-family: Arial;\">\u00ab\u00a0L&rsquo;ann\u00e9e 1828 est l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e la plus f\u00e9conde de l&rsquo;Histoire de la musique occidentale, parce que ce fut la derni\u00e8re ann\u00e9e de la vie de Schubert pendant laquelle il a \u00e9crit tant de chef d&rsquo;\u0153uvres.\u00bb<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">J&rsquo;ai donc voulu me confronter \u00e0 cette affirmation.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">En r\u00e9alit\u00e9, il s&rsquo;agit des 10 premiers mois de l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e 1828. Il est mort le 19 novembre, et les derniers jours, il \u00e9tait trop malade pour composer.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">J&rsquo;ai d&rsquo;abord gr\u00e2ce au catalogue Deutsch que l&rsquo;on trouve sur &lt;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Catalogue_Deutsch\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Internet<\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">&gt; et la monumentale biographie de Schubert par Brigitte Massin, pu faire la liste de toutes les \u0153uvres de cette ann\u00e9e-l\u00e0.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Liste qui commence par le Lied \u00ab\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=MvotVlSmGZY\">Lebensmut\u00a0<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Courage de vivre\u00a0\u00bb traduit wikipedia, je pr\u00e9f\u00e8re \u00ab\u00a0force de vie\u00a0\u00bb. C&rsquo;est un po\u00e8me de Ludwig Rellstab, l&rsquo;auteur des premiers po\u00e8mes du \u00ab\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/lemotdujour.fr\/?p=9468\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">chant du cygne D. 957<\/span><\/a>\u00bb. Schubert ne mettra en musique que le d\u00e9but du po\u00e8me, ce qui en fait un lied tr\u00e8s court d&rsquo;une minute.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9644 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/lemotdujour.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/schubertamklavier.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"363\" height=\"235\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lemotdujour.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/schubertamklavier.jpg 600w, https:\/\/lemotdujour.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/schubertamklavier-300x194.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 363px) 100vw, 363px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">C&rsquo;est encore troublant que la premi\u00e8re \u0153uvre de cette ann\u00e9e qui sera la derni\u00e8re de sa courte vie soit un hymne \u00e0 la vie, le po\u00e8me \u00e9voque le bruissement d&rsquo;une source de vie : \u00ab Rauschet der Lebensquell \u00bb.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Et qui finit avec les \u0153uvres D. 965 que j&rsquo;ai \u00e9voqu\u00e9 lors du mot du jour du &lt;<a href=\"https:\/\/lemotdujour.fr\/?p=9531\">v<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">endredi 28 ao\u00fbt 2020<\/span><\/a>&gt; dont l&rsquo;extraordinaire \u00ab <strong>Le p\u00e2tre sur le rocher D 965. <\/strong>\u00bb<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Je connaissais la plupart de ces \u0153uvres, mais je ne les connaissais pas toutes.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">J&rsquo;ai d\u00fb en acheter certaines comme cette &lt;<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=YfgJRg-9pFk\">Fugue D.952<\/a><\/span>&gt; qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crite \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine pour orgue, seule \u0153uvre pour orgue de Schubert. Mais elle est aussi jou\u00e9e dans une version de piano \u00e0 quatre mains. Je ne l&rsquo;ai trouv\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9 que sous cette forme<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Gr\u00e2ce aux techniques modernes num\u00e9riques, j&rsquo;ai pu ainsi constituer un album sp\u00e9cifique de toutes ces \u0153uvres dans l&rsquo;ordre du catalogue Deutsch du D.937 au D.965A.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Deux \u0153uvres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 perdues<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Un ch\u0153ur D. 941 mais Schubert a \u00e9crit deux autres versions sur le m\u00eame texte D. 948 et D. 964 que l&rsquo;Histoire a conserv\u00e9 et qui sont enregistr\u00e9es.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Une \u0153uvre de piano D. 944A<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Tout au long de l&rsquo;\u00e9criture de cette s\u00e9rie, j&rsquo;ai \u00e9cout\u00e9 et r\u00e9\u00e9cout\u00e9 toutes ces \u0153uvres. Certaines de tr\u00e8s nombreuses fois et dans plusieurs versions. Je crois pouvoir dire que je suis rempli par ces \u0153uvres de 1828.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Schubert a \u00e9crit des chefs d&rsquo;\u0153uvre avant 1828 et toutes les \u0153uvres de 1828 ne sont pas des chefs d&rsquo;\u0153uvre.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Cependant, les 10 \u0153uvres que j&rsquo;ai pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es dans des mots du jour sp\u00e9cifiques constituent des sommets au Panth\u00e9on des \u0153uvres musicales occidentales.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">La fantaisie pour piano \u00e0 quatre mains D. 940, avec laquelle cette s\u00e9rie a d\u00e9but\u00e9, est la plus belle \u0153uvre pour piano \u00e0 quatre mains du r\u00e9pertoire.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Il n&rsquo;y a pas d&rsquo;\u00e9quivalent du quintette en ut D. 956 pour deux violoncelles<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Il n&rsquo;y a pas plus exceptionnel que les trois derni\u00e8res sonates de piano D. 958, D. 959 et D. 960. Les derni\u00e8res sonates de Beethoven sont \u00e0 ce niveau, mais pas au-dessus<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Nous sommes dans ces sommets pour les autres \u0153uvres\u00a0: le chant du cygne D. 957, la symphonie en ut D. 944, la Messe en mi D. 950, les 3 Klavierst\u00fccke D. 946 et l&rsquo;unique \u00ab\u00a0P\u00e2tre sur le rocher D. 965\u00a0\u00bb.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Les autres \u0153uvres de 1828 sont au nombre de 20 dont les deux qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 perdus, il en reste 18. [\u2026] Ce serait la r\u00e9ponse heureuse et \u00e9panouie \u00e0 l&rsquo;impulsion vitale lib\u00e9r\u00e9e dans l&rsquo;Allegro. Mais le Rondo admirablement construit et \u00e9quilibr\u00e9, n&rsquo;en est pas moins une \u0153uvre qui se suffit \u00e0 elle-m\u00eame.\u00a0\u00bb<br \/>\n<em>Page 1247<br \/>\n<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Je vous invite \u00e0 \u00e9couter cette \u0153uvre dans une interpr\u00e9tation qui associe &lt;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qfMU1jORNyA\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Martha Argerich et Daniel Barenbo\u00efm<\/span><\/a>&gt;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Le lied \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=pkx1AeCLA3I\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Auf dem Strom<\/span>\u00a0<\/a>\u00bb (sur le fleuve) D. 943, est encore sur un po\u00e8me de Rellstab, l&rsquo;auteur des 7 premiers lieder du cycle du \u00ab\u00a0Chant du cygne\u00a0\u00bb. Et Schubert va ajouter au piano, un cor (quelquefois le cor est remplac\u00e9 par un violoncelle) pour accompagner la voix cr\u00e9ant ainsi un pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent \u00e0 son chef d&rsquo;\u0153uvre presque final du p\u00e2tre sur le rocher avec la pr\u00e9sence de la clarinette. C&rsquo;est encore une \u0153uvre d&rsquo;une rare qualit\u00e9, avec un \u00e9quilibre entre la voix et les instruments admirablement dos\u00e9.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Et le lied \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0dil9-sXgyc\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Herbst<\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00bb (Automne) D. 945 toujours de Rellstab, avec un accompagnement \u00e9vocateur et d&rsquo;une subtilit\u00e9 qui n&rsquo;appartient qu&rsquo;\u00e0 Schubert.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Peut \u00eatre que certains lecteurs attentifs s&rsquo;\u00e9tonneront-ils que deux des \u0153uvres que j&rsquo;ai \u00e9voqu\u00e9s lors du mot du jour sur les derni\u00e8res \u0153uvres ne soient pas pr\u00e9sents ici.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/lemotdujour.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/092720_2304_Vendredi4se1.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"left\" \/><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Je veux parler de la 10<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> symphonie et de l&rsquo;Op\u00e9ra le \u00ab\u00a0Comte de Gleichen\u00a0\u00bb. Mais ces deux \u0153uvres sur lesquels Schubert a travaill\u00e9 dans ses derniers jours sont rest\u00e9s inachev\u00e9s et \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tat d&rsquo;esquisse.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Les esquisses de la 10<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> symphonie ont \u00e9t\u00e9 retrouv\u00e9s et publi\u00e9s en 1978. Il a fallu lui trouver un num\u00e9ro interm\u00e9diaire\u00a0: 936A soit juste avant le commencement officiel de l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e 1828\u00a0: D. 937.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Quant au Comte de Gleichen\u00a0, il fut class\u00e9 dans la p\u00e9riode dans laquelle Schubert a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 le composer en 1827, son num\u00e9ro est D. 918.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Des musicologues ont tent\u00e9 d&rsquo;achever ces deux \u0153uvres et ils ont m\u00eame \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9s.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #777777; font-family: Arial;\">Il y a plusieurs enregistrements de la 10<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> symphonie. J&rsquo;ai achet\u00e9 la version de l&rsquo;Orchestre Philharmonique de Li\u00e8ge, sous la direction de Pierre Bartholom\u00e9e. Chaque version est diff\u00e9rente, puisque les musicologues n&rsquo;ont pas fait les m\u00eames choix pour compl\u00e9ter l&rsquo;\u0153uvre.
